The Storying Way™

I’m facing the wall in my room, typing, when an idea pops into my head to ask my brother to buy me shawarma. And while I’m thinking about it, my brother appears in the doorway and says, ‘Come and buy shawarma for me.’

I laugh because how are we so in sync? As we argue over who will buy the shawarma, he goes to sit on my bed and shows me something on his phone. I tell him that that’s a potential story, and he says, ‘You’re obsessed with stories.’

That’s not his first time saying it, and he’s not the only one.

I was asking my mum questions about a story she’d shared with me. I’ve barely asked a few questions when my dad says, ‘She wants to write a story.’

He’s right. I’ve become someone who’s always hunting for stories, but I wasn’t always like this. Despite having obtained a master’s in creative writing, I wasn’t this obsessed about storytelling until a few months ago, when I chose to see stories as a way of life and a way to lead.

And that’s what The Storying Way™ is about. It’s a community of leaders who want Storying to be a way of life and a way to lead. It’s about finding stories in the small moments and using those stories to connect, influence, and impact.
